SHIPWRECKED Spring Break Camp!
Ahoy, young performers! After a theatrical shipwreck, campers work together to create and put on a show before rescue arrives. Our adventure includes high-energy ensemble games, costume and prop creation, and devised theater work, with activities tailored to each theater adventurer. Using music from Finding Nemo, Moana, The Little Mermaid, and more, campers will spend the week bringing an island-inspired story to life. This camp blends creativity, collaboration, and performance into one unforgettable under-the-sea week.
No theater experience required.

Camp Once Upon a Time

Step into a world where medieval stories come to life! This playful drama camp introduces K–1st graders to the basics of acting through movement, imagination, and games. Campers explore story structure, stage design, and the actor’s toolbox while bringing stories to life in a supportive, fun-filled environment.

Build a Show:
Quest for the Golden Script
7:45 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Young theater-makers embark on an epic medieval quest to create an original play from the ground up! Through an introduction to devised theater, campers collaborate in small and large groups to invent characters, build stories, and bring their ideas to life. Along the way, they explore story structure, script writing, stage design, prop creation, and the basics of show production—culminating in a short, original play worthy of the royal stage.

Improv Camp:
Court Jesters

Step into the spotlight and unleash your inner Court Jester! This laugh-out-loud improv camp introduces students to the basics of improvisational theater through fast-paced games, creative storytelling, and scene work. Campers will learn how to build stories on the fly, make bold character choices, and explore tactics and objectives—all through playful, supportive improv activities. Perfect for performers of all experience levels, this camp builds confidence, teamwork, and quick thinking while having a ton of fun. No scripts, no pressure—just imagination, collaboration, and big laughs!

Into the Unknown

Young explorers are invited to step into the unknown and discover the magic of theater! This imaginative story drama camp introduces students to the Actor’s Toolbox through creative play, theater games, and guided storytelling. Campers will experiment with stage design, explore basic story structure, and bring characters and worlds to life using their voices, bodies, and imaginations. Designed especially for our youngest performers, this camp builds confidence, creativity, and collaboration in a fun, nurturing environment—no experience required!

Musical Theatre Camp:
Encore!
7:45 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Sing, dance, and shine in Encore!—a high-energy musical theater camp for young performers. Students will learn the fundamentals of musical theater technique, including basic choreography, singing fun song selections, and performing short scenes. Campers will explore the Actor’s Toolbox as they build confidence, teamwork, and stage presence, all while working toward a short-form musical performance. Perfect for performers of all experience levels, this camp is a joyful introduction to the magic of musical theater!

Stage Combat Camp:
Once Upon a Fight

Bring the drama—and the action—to the stage! In Stage Combat Camp, students will learn the foundations of safe and effective stage combat, including falls, basic stunts, and choreographed fight scenes. Through guided instruction and hands-on practice, campers will explore how to tell stories through movement while building trust, focus, and physical awareness. Perfect for adventurous performers, this camp channels energy into creativity and teamwork—no prior experience required, just a willingness to learn and have fun!

Guardians of the Beat

Young heroes will jump into an imaginative world of storytelling in Guardians of the Beat! This story drama camp introduces Kindergarten and 1st Grade students to the Actor’s Toolbox through creative play, theater games, and guided exploration. Campers will experiment with stage design, discover the basics of story structure, and bring characters to life using their voices, bodies, and imaginations. Designed for our youngest performers, this camp builds confidence, creativity, and collaboration in a fun, supportive environment—no experience required!

Build a Show:
Pop Heroes Academy

Calling all creative heroes! In Pop Heroes Academy: Build a Show!, students will explore the exciting world of devised theater, working together to create an original short play from start to finish. Campers will collaborate in small and large groups to learn story structure, write scripts, and bring their ideas to life through stage design, prop creation, and show production. This hands-on, imagination-powered camp builds teamwork, confidence, and creativity while empowering students to become writers, designers, and performers in their very own original show!

Cabaret Camp:
Neon Nights
7:45 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Lights up and music on! Neon Nights – Cabaret Camp invites students to step into a fast-paced musical theater experience with a cabaret-style twist. Campers will learn the basics of musical theater technique, including choreography, learning exciting song selections, and performing short scenes. Through exploration of the Actor’s Toolbox, students will build confidence, stage presence, and ensemble skills as they work toward performing a short-form musical cabaret. Perfect for performers ready to shine, this camp celebrates creativity, collaboration, and bold performance under the lights!

Young Playwrights Festival (9th-12th)
Write It. Rehearse It. Produce It. Perform It.
A three-week intensive for high school theater makers ready to bring new stories to life.
Students collaborate as a full production team—gaining experience in directing, acting, stage management, marketing, costume design, lighting, sound, and more—while developing and staging original student-written plays under the guidance of STC’s Teaching Artist Team.
The program culminates in two evening workshop performances of these new works.
Three Ways to Participate:

- Playwriting Workshop + Production Camp – write and then help produce the plays
- Production Camp Only – join the production team to bring the plays to life

In our Playwriting workshop, students will focus on developing an original script in a supportive workshop environment while learning the basics of script creation, story building and “The Actor’s Toolbox”.
Students will participate in four Wednesday evening sessions in June focused on play development, feedback, and writing techniques in a playwriting cohort while developing original stories with the teaching artist team.
